10 Great Reminders to Not Beat Yourself Up Over Food this Holiday Season

10 Great Reminders to Not Beat Yourself Up Over Food this Holiday Season

December 16, 2020

Courtesy of The Met.

So eat ALL the things & be merry!

Please Note; some pictures shared in this post contain Nudity.

First, I must stress that even though this post may seem more geared to women, men if you need this reminder then this is a post also for you.

The Holiday season is a time for giving and it is also a time for EATING! But as much as we enjoy eating in the moment, afterwards we immediately beat ourselves up and scold ourselves for indulging.

Well that’s stupid…

Do you know why? Well, first (and probably most importantly) we are lucky that we are able to feast like a guest at Elvis’s or King Henry VIII’s dinner table. There are people (especially this year) who aren’t so lucky that will go hungry this Christmas.

I don’t want to bum you out too much (you can watch Muppet’s Christmas Carol or Love Actually if you need a cry), so let me just dive in and give you reason number two.

It is proven in Historical Art that us Women are MEANT to have a bit of meat on our bones.

To back up my case see below!

10 Muses on Display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Women who were proud of their love handles and are excellent reminders that we were not meant to be all skin and bones.

Only a confident woman would pose for a painting and there’s not a boob job in sight!

So please do not beat yourself up during this Holiday Season or any other time for that matter. You are perfect exactly as you are.

Happy Holidays! And as always…

This is so true! I love the art aspect because you truly don’t realize that!

Thanks for this. After a comment from my mom, I started to feel a little bad about enjoying holiday food.

That’s you mom projecting her issues onto you! Speaking from experience here. Trust me. You enjoy the food. I’m going to go get my third piece of cake… and enjoy my health and curves! 🤣

This post is lovely! Did you visit a museum to take these photos? It’s so true that we’ve tightened our body image standards too much. People are meant to be nourished by food and we shouldn’t judge ourselves.

I walked across the park to The Met specifically for this post lol! It’s only a 20 min stroll from my apartment xxxx

Food during the holidays leave such an array of memories! Its one of the only times we can eat at our hearts desire and not feel guilty as everyone around us is doing the same!
