Running out of things to do at home with your kids? Wondering how you can keep the kids entertained this weekend? Or need some downtime but your seven year old wants you to play Barbies?
I have the perfect answer on what to do with your kids this weekend.
Why not get your family in their pajamas, get some snacks on the go and sit down with a family movie!
I’m not talking about How to Train Your Dragon or Trolls… Why not show them a movie you loved as a kid? You can ease up on screen time just for these at least!
So here are 5 Nostalgic Movies to Watch with Your Kids, talk about a fun activity to do with your kids at home!
1. Kindergarten Cop
“WHO IS YOUR DADDY AND WHAT DOES HE DO?”
I recently watched Kindergarten Cop for the first time as an adult and LOVED it! I remember loving it as a child, but as an adult? It’s the perfect way to put an end to boredom in Lockdown for all of the family.
2. Robin Hood Men in Tights
“BLESS YOU!“
This movie is Mel Brooks at its finest. The kids will love watching this movie because it’s fun and a silly adaptation of Robin Hood. They will be singing along in no time. And if you need another activity to do with your kids, why not have them make their own Robin Hood or Maid Marion outfit after watching this film? Order some green tights here!
3. Labyrinth
“COME INSIDE AND MEET THE MRS!”
Perhaps this should have been number 1 on my list. My all time favorite. In fact, I want children just so I can show them this movie. I’ve made my pug watch it but it’s not the same… Can you think of a better movie for the imaginations of children? And if they love this, then be sure to show them The Dark Crystal and the new series with Mark Hamil made by Netflix last year. All of this is just pure magic. And the perfect way to keep kids entertained at home.
4. Dumb and Dumber
“HIS HEAD FELL OFF!”
I remember watching this when I was young with my Dad and him laughing at the “Samsonite” joke. I had no idea what was funny and he had to explain it to me. That’s a happy memory I have whenever I see a briefcase. That’s movie magic right there. Your kids will love seeing the van that looks like a dog! This good movie will have the entire family in fits of giggles during movie time.
5. Grease
“I GOT A HICKIE FROM KENICKIE“
This may be the ultimate family movie you should watch this weekend. What’s not to love about Grease? There is everything from angels, to cars racing to back-flipping hotdogs. This will definitely keep the kids entertained!

So there you have it! The list could have kept going but let’s stop here.
My recommendation of something fun to do with your kids this weekend. It’s a win win. If you are in need of some extra tlc, why not put on a face-mask and eat some of your favorite snacks. Really chillax. And if you don’t have kids, why not watch these anyway? Still so much fun to have.
