There are haters out there (my husband for one). People who think social media is a waste of time or just for vanity. And perhaps this is true for a lot of us.
Recently, I started this blog and I have come to realize that social media is also an excellent business tool for many. It’s the perfect way to reach a broader audience for your small business.
But it’s not only businesses that can benefit from our social media scrolling habits, we can also help charities.
I have had my pug for almost seven years now, the love I feel for the little guy is something I cannot express with words. On instagram I have found and connected with thousands of others who understand this.
#PUGLOVE is a thing!
As a result of Cupid’s page, I have also found that there are wonderful people out there dedicating their time and resources to make a difference in the world.
People who are trying to save animals. Running small rescues.
These people run charities that don’t receive funding from massive corporations. They don’t have a mogul owner skimming the donations or financial resources for a marketing team. These kind hearted, earth-angels are regular good people spending their time helping animals.
How amazing is that?
So use instagram to find these people and support their causes. Follow them, share the posts that are asking for help and if you can donate. Or even better- ADOPT!
Below are 4 Pug Rescues you can help today!
1. Homeward Bound Pug Rescue of Oklahoma
I stumbled across their page one day and have recently formed a friendship with Gail, the woman (angel) behind this wonderful rescue center. Gail needs your help more than ever. Recently Gail rescued Gizmo who is only 4 weeks old. He has a cleft palate and a micro eye and needs a lot of veterinary care. He is the most precious thing. Pleased donate to help Gizmo and his fellow foster family. And of you are thinking about getting a pup for Christmas- ADOPT! Gail has an amazon wishlist for her current needs.
2. The Pug Queen
The Pug Queen is just that, The Pug Queen! She and Bart are on a mission to rescue pugs who were being mistreated in China (yup… we’ve all heard the stories…). They were set to fly all the pups over before the pandemic derailed their rescue mission. They have since been raising funds for a house they have rented that’s holding the pugs until they can get them to the USA. They recently managed to get some safely here, but as a result of them having to fly via Korea it costs THOUSANDS per pug. She also has an amazon wishlist
And there are babies in their care waiting to find their forever families!
3. Pug Hearts of Houston
Look no further than Pug Hearts of Houston if you don’t believe that all these charities really are saving pugs one by one. A few months ago they managed to rescue little Rafael- I cannot write about his story as it breaks me… this little pup arrived to them without a stitch of fur… but just like ALL these pugs who have been rescued, he’s a fighter and you would never know his past when you look at him today. Please donate or adopt today!
4. Muffin Pug Rescue
For my British dog lovers and readers, if this post made you want to adopt one of these precious babies then look no further than Muffin Pug Rescue… Trust me when I say you will NEVER regret getting a pug. They are so loving and giving… they will improve your life. Here’s their amazon wish list.
I really hope this inspires you to put that social media scrolling habit to some good. If pugs or even dogs aren’t your thing, you won’t have to look very far to find someone who needs help. I have only shared puggy profiles as pugs are very close to my heart but keep this in mind if you are looking to show some kindness or expand your family.
I love all animals but sadly cannot help them all (yet!). One day I hope to have my own rescue, and be in a position to fly and volunteer to help the above rescues that I so greatly admire.
Don’t forget you can also support small businesses. Check out my post about my favourite pet accessory here; https://bimboinlimbo.com/the-perfect-pet-accessory/
And on that note, I’ll sign off. Hoping that maybe I have helped spread some acts of kindness…
As always,
Live with Love,
The Bimbo in Limbo xxxx

Love this post, I learned a lot!
We’re in Houston and my son would love a pug. It’s not possible at the minute but maybe one day we will reach out to Pug Hearts ❤
There never is a right time but you’ll make it work and won’t regret it when you do! They are such sweet dogs. They somehow always make you laugh when you need it the most… keep me posted when you decide! Would love to know! Xxxx
