A couple of days into married life I started to develop some rather peculiar ‘tendencies’. Instead of looking at clothes or shoes on various retailers websites, I instead found myself perusing ‘homeware’ sites. The big shocker was, I found myself enjoying it to the same degree!
(Oh no… What did you buy?!)
First, I found a framed picture that I just had to own for the kitchen in my next home.
Next home?
Well, we currently live in a rather humble one bedroom apartment in NYC and as a result of lockdown, we have already had to incorporate an office, a recording studio and a gym into what was already a fully kitted out cozy and small space. So we don’t even have room for an additional teaspoon with our current situation.
There was a period of time that I was convinced I was actually Mary Poppins, and my Apartment on the Upper West Side was my expandable bag. But that’s certainly not the case.
Hey look it me!
Next, a week after the picture, I found a biscuit tin on a British website that I desperately needed, to go with the said picture. After all, the picture involved a dinosaur and a cup of tea, it was utterly appropriate as well as justifiable.
The downward spiral continued… I bought a sugar bowl.
When I told my husband about the sugar bowl, he reminded me I don’t even take sugar (not even just a spoonful) in my cuppa nor do we know anyone who does. Regardless, we are now owners of a petite Porcelain container for ones sugar, for when one pops round for a lovely cup of tea.
I thought the sugar bowl was the end of my new habit but I suddenly found myself looking at napkin rings. NAPKIN RINGS. Ones that were gold with teeny-tiny pearls…
What on earth was happening to me?!
It was when I purchased a Framed art piece for our downstairs loo (yup… of course we don’t have a second toilet in our current spot…) that I realized I needed to figure out what was going on.
I was nesting.
I was trying to make a home for us!
Who knew that that was an actual thing?! I got married and turned into a mother hen! What the actual F?! I had become a character out of Chicken Run!
Having come to this clucking realization (I had to…), I am trying to manage and control my new ‘urges’.
Today I failed. I may have ordered a cake stand. But tomorrow however, is another day…
As always,
Live with Love,
The Bimbo in Limbo xxxx

Sounds like someone needs an arty, yet practical new apron! One for Edgar as well.
